Over 100 MAM employees risks December salaries delay

Over 100 MAM employees risk recieving their December salaries very late following a court injunction obtained by some concerned Muslims restraining Sheik Idrissa Muhammad from performing his duties.

On December 17, the High Court in Lilongwe granted an injunction to Moussa Shoaib and his colleagues restraining Sheikh Idrissa Muhammad from performing any MAM duties until the court decides on his eligibility as the national chairman.

“The 2nd Defendant is by himself or through their servants, agents, employees or whomsoever on their behalf restrained from exercising any powers as Chairman of the Muslim Association of Malawi National Executive Committee and further restraining the 2nd Defendant from enteringtheoffices of the abovementioned Association until the final determination of this matter or until a further order of this Court is made,” reads part of the injunction.

The restraining order means the chairman and those who serve him can not perform any official duties.
