The Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) has urged the Ministry of Education not to relent on the disagreement between Anglican church members and Muslims over Hijaab in Balaka district.
Anglican Church members are disallowing Muslim girls to wear Hijaab at M’manga schools.
The school has been re-opened following a battle which occurred between Muslims and Anglican members over the incident but the girls are still disallowed to attend classes while putting on a Hijaab.
When responding to the media, MAM spokesperson Sheikh Dinala Chabulika said the Ministry of Education should not keep quite on the matter as muslim girls are being denied a right to education.
During the chaos, Anglican members destroyed Mosques and in return, Muslims also destroyed their churches.
