A 32 year old man identified as Kondwani Bakili was on June 29, 2023, found dead after he hanged himself in the forest near Mkaika community day secondary school in Nkhotakota District.
Bakili left home on June 28 2023, to unknown destination and was last seen at Mkaika trading center on the following day.
Nkhotakota police station deputy public relations officer Chisomo Chuma says in the morning of June 29,2023, Bakili was found dead hanging to a tree in the forest nearby Mkaika Community day Secondary School.
“Postmortem conducted at Kapiri health center established that the death was caused by suffocation secondary to strangulation,” Chuma says.
Meanwhile, Police in the district are advising people to refrain from taking their own lives rather should seek counseling from relevant authorities to avoid similar deaths.
