Police in Phalombe district have arrested a 22-year old man for allegedly murdering his ex-girlfriend.
Phalombe Police public relations officer, Jimmy Kapanja has identified the suspect as Osiwa Masupi.
Kapanje says Masupi is suspected to have killed the ex-girlfriend during the night of May 30 to 31 2023 at Namata village.
“The law enforcers are yet to establish the reasons why Masupi committed the offence,” he says.
Kapanja says the suspect escaped to Murumbu district in Mozambique where he was hiding in his uncle’s house.

The suspect will appear before the court soon to answer murder charges.
Masupi hails from Namata village, Traditional Authority Kaduya in the district.
