University graduates in Mangochi district through their organisation called Mobile Youth Network (MOYONE) have embarked in various initiatives aimed at inspiring students in secondary and primary schools.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Muslim Media Agency,the Vice Chairman of the organization Qassim William Allie says as one of grouping’s objective on Thursday, 2nd February , 2023, they had a motivation talk at St Martins Secondary School and Makumba Primary School in the district.
“We were at these two schools to give career guidance and motivational talk to the students so that they can achieve their dreams,” he says.
The Vice Chairman who also doubles as Programs Manager says since the organization is composed of college students and other degree Holders they thought it wise to present themselves to the students as role models.
“We were sharing with them about our secondary school experiences and general motivation talk as well as encouraging them to work had for them to achieve their dreams. And we were also awarding students who did well past previous team with ball pens and we had also a question and answers part where we were awarding students who answers questions correctly with ball pens,” Allie says.
The Programs Manager says the organization has a lot of initiatives lined up to motivate and inspire secondary and primary school students in the district.
“So far we have had a number of activities. We organized two mega football competitions where some government officials and other stake holders such as immigration, police officials, healthy officials and FDH bank took it as the chance to deliver their message to the people. We have also been doing career guidance like the one we had on Thursday some times before,” Allie says.
The organization started in 2021 but it was launched on 19th December, 2022. Currently, the organization covers three areas namely the area of Traditional Authority (TA) Mponda, Traditional Authority (TA) Namabvi and Senior Chief Chowe in the lakeshore district. In the near future, the organization plans to expand its wings in all districts across the country.
