The Mangochi district Ulama Council last Sunday, elected new executive members following the dissolution of all district Ulama Councils by the newly elected National Ulama Council-Malawi in March, 2023.
The election took place at Mangochi-Boma and Namwera and all went well and peacefully as all invited individuals turned up and elected their executive committee members through shurah.
Speaking at the end of election, Sheikh Mussa Matola, who is the Chairperson of the National Ulama Council- Malawi commended Muslims for peaceful election and urged the elected team to be fair in their duties in uniting the Muslims in the district.
In his welcoming remarks the newly elected Chairperson for Mangochi Ulama Council, Sheikh Issa Shoaib, congratulated the shurah committee for his appointment and asked Muslims in Mangochi and entire country to be united in all affairs of the religion (Deen).
The six elected members are Sheikh Issa Shoaib (Chairperson), Sheikh Adam Mussa (Vice chairperson), Sheikh AbduNoor Fundi (Secretary), Sheikh Adam Idrissah (Vice secretary), Sheikh Mussa Saidan (Treasurer) and Sheikh Idrissah Ngaula (Vice Treasurer).
