Zain Bhikha has finally arrived in Malawi on his four-day concert tour, Classic Events, organisers of the concerts have announced.
The nasheed pioneer landed in the country on Thursday January 22, 2015 through Chileka International Airport.
“Alhamdulillah. The man we have been waiting for, Zain Bhikha is finally here. I don’t how I can express my excitement. Our only appeal to those who have not bought tickets yet, to do so as this is a lifetime opportunity that no one can afford to miss.
“Zain is a very talented Muslim artist. His nasheeds have changed many lives around the world – more importantly when he performs live on stage. He has an emotional touch. So let’s not miss this chance,” said Bashir Amin who is responsible for communications at Classic Events.
Immediately after arriving in the country, Zain visited some areas affected by floods in Chigumula, Blantyre.
Amin explained: “As you know, these concerts are supported by Islamic Relief Malawi and Zain is Ambassador of Global Islamic Relief (IR) which includes Malawi. So, he joined the IR officials as they respond to some of the affected areas especially in Blantyre.”
The concerts are part of the fundraising activities of 2015 Malawi Muslim Awards (MMA) which made its debut in the year 2014. MMA seeks to recognize and celebrate those individuals and organisations that have done a lot to the development of Islam and the Malawi country as a whole.
Zain will be performing on Saturday at Robins Park and at Crossroads Hotel the following day.
