Muslim clerics (Imaam) belonging to Imam Development Program (IDP) from southern region of Malawi over the weekend gathered together for the first time at the meeting organised by the organisation at Kameza Albarakah-Charity-Trust Education Centre in Blantyre.
Speaking in an interview with Muslim Media Agency, Imam Development Program (IDP) coordinator in Malawi, Sheikh Shaff Duwa said they organised the meeting in order for the IDP Imams to get to know each other and sharing their Dawah experience in propagating the message of Islam in the country.
“The meeting was aimed at getting to know each other more especially all IDP Imams. This is because we mostly happen to know Imam, but not knowing his location or district which he comes from and works for. This meeting has brought a networking spirit whereby Imams will now be able to visit each other and doing Dawah programs together which in the long run will result in strengthening the bondage of brotherhood and developing Islam in the country”,Hhe said.
Duwa also added that they have distributed laptops to Imams to uplift their Dawah work by doing research (through laptops) which will help them to steer and manage their Dawah programs appropriately and justifiably.
“The distributed laptops will aid and impart these Imams with new Islamic knowledge as they will be comfortably able to research right information about their religion (Islam). Apart from that it will also enhance and plant hardworking spirit for the Imams whereby at the end the Madrassah learners will be equipped with pure authentic Islamic knowledge,” he added.
The same meeting also took place in Salima by Imam Development Program (IDP) Imams of central region of Malawi.
The Imam Development Program is uplifting the lives of Imams and ressurecting Islam in dead and once forgotten areas in the country.
