As the preparations for Ramadhan continues, Muslim students in Malawi have organised Get-together scheduled to take place tomorrow July 23 at Mpingwe Sports Club in Limbe, Blantyre from 9 am.
One of the organisers, Islamic Information Bureau, Youth Desk Officer Jafar Idana confirmed the development to Malawi Muslims Official Website on Friday where he also said that over 200 students from different schools around Blantyre are expected to attend.
Idana said the aim of the gathering is to sensitise the youth on the importance of fasting in the month of Ramadhan.
“Tomorrow we are having a historical get-together at Mpingwe Sports Club where many students including Muslim leaders are expected to be in attendance. We are expected to distribute a lot of things such as 2011 Ramadhan Time Table and other Islamic Literature. So we, urge all students to come and attend this auspicious occasion,” he said.
One of the people who are expected to grace the occasion is Islamic Information Bureau National Coordinator Sheikh Dinaar Chabulika. Meanwhile, there is also confirmed reports that Malawi Muslims Official Website founder who is also Insight Magazine’s Managing Editor Marshall Dyton will give his presentation on the ‘Importance of IT to the Muslim Youth – how and what to search on the Internet.’
This year’s event is conducted under the theme ‘Towards Successful Ramadhan for Muslim Youth.’
