Saturday, 29th April, 2023, Muslim Women Organization (MWO) donated various items to Cyclone Freddy victims residing at Mayera Camp in Blantyre.
MWO Publicity Secretary Sister Shameem Frank Chikwana told Muslim Media Agency that the organization reached out to 309 people.
“MWO Chirimba Mgwirizano Ladies visited Mayera camp which is a combined of Chirimba , Namatete and Mayera where there are 309 people who are the victims of cyclone Freddy,” she said.
Chikwana adds: “we collected used clothes, maize flour and donated to them. There is a new born baby as well whom we also cheered.”
MWO Chairlady Sister Catherine Banda commended Muslims who contributed items to make the visit a success.
In his remarks, group village headman M’dala of the area thanked the organisation for arranging the visit. The chief asked the Muslim women to continue supporting the victims.
Muslim Women Organization advised the victims to trust that one day, Allah will ease their situation. The Muslim women also urged the victims to always remember Allah whilst at the camp and beyond.
