Muslims in Malawi celebrate Eid-al-adha

Eid al- adha which means festival of the sacrifice, marks the end of the annual hajj pilgrimage.

Hundreds of Muslims in Blantyre gathered at upper stadium to commemorate today’s prayer for Eid al- adha.

This Eid commemorates the story of the Muslim prophet Ibrahim who was tested on faith.

All Muslims believe that Ibrahim was commanded by Allah to sacrifice his only son, Ismail.

Then Almighty Allah spared the life of the boy and placing a ram in his place.

The day is marked with the sacrifice of an animal usually goats, cows and ram.
