Parents and Chiefs around Chamalala Full Primary School in Nkhotakota district have teamed up to make sure that all Standard 8 pupils who were Impregnated during the closure of schools amid COVID-19 pandemic sit for Primary School Leaving Certificate Examinations (PSLCE) set to commence on Wednesday, this week.
One member of Parents , Teacher’s Association (PTA) told Malawi Muslim Website that five Standard eight girls were Impregnated at the school but all of them will be allowed to sit for examinations.
She has further cautioned other students not to laugh at the impregnated learners in the examinations room.
“We have cautioned the other learners not to laugh at the impregnated girls in the examinations,”
“Anyone who will found laughing will be arrested because our aim is to see these impregnated girls to realise their academic dreams,” she told Malawi Muslim Website.
Chamalala Full Primary School in Nkhotakota district is in Kapanga Village , Sub- Traditional Authority Kalimajira.
During COVID-19 lockdown, over 6000 school going girls across the country were either impregnated or married.
