An angry man has killed a police officer in Mangochi district, Mangochi Police Station Public Relations Officer Amina Tepani Daudi has confirmed the development to Malawi Muslims Official Website.
On claims that the officer was caught having an affair with another man’s wife, Daudi says investigations are underway to establish the cause of the death.
“Matter is still under investigation zimenezo ife sitikudziwapo kanthu after our establishment you will be told,” Daudi told Malawi Muslims Official Website.
Daudi told Malawi Muslims Official Website that the police officer was stabbed to death on Friday, 13th August 2021.
“I can confirm that we have lost D/Sub/Inspector Yusuf Bwanali of Makanjira Police Post in Mangochi District. The officer was stabbed to death, Friday, August 13, 2021 in Binali Mkanda Village which is a stone throw away from Luwesa Roadblock within Makanjira area, where he was executing police roadblock duties,” Daudi says.
Daudi says the suspect has been identified but is on the run.
“The wife of the suspect is in police custody for questioning regarding the circumstances of the death of the police officer.More details will be divulged later after interviewing the wife of the suspect. The suspect is being traced at the moment and the possibility of arresting him is high,” Daudi says.
