President Lazarus Chakwera has called upon Muslims in the country to promote unity.
Chakwera said this through the minister of homeland security and internal affairs Honourable Richard Chimwendo Banda at the official launch of Muft Abbas Islamic University Fundraising exercise in Mangochi.
Banda who was guest of honor at the event said government is always open to welcome pieces of advice from stakeholders for the betterment of the nation.
“The president is urging all Muslim institutions more especially MAM to provide guidance on issues of national interest,” said the minister.
President Chakwera donated 5 million Kwacha towards the project which he said is very important and has pledged his total support.
He said he is ready to help IVM woo donors support from outside the country.
“The president doesn’t want this project to fail and he will always be there to render his support,” said Banda.
