Allah Is Al-Mujeeb
(The Responsive, The Hearkener. The One who answers the one in need if He asks Him and rescues the yearner if He calls upon Him. The Responder. The One Who Answers.)
Calling upon ALLAAH in Dua (supplication)
And your Lord said: “Invoke Me, [i.e. believe in My Oneness (Islamic Monotheism) and ask Me for anything] I will respond to your requests. Verily! Those who scorn My worship [i.e. do not invoke Me, and do not believe in My Oneness, (Islamic Monotheism)] they will surely enter Hell in humiliation!” (40:60)
Invoke your Lord with humility and in secret. He likes not the aggressors. (7:55)
And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad [saw]) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor). So let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may be led aright. (2:186)
“Is not He (best) who listens to the (soul) distressed when it calls on Him, and who relieves its suffering.” (27:62)
Dua’s are never wasted
Aisha radhiallaahu anha said, “No believer makes Dua and it is wasted. Either it is granted here in this world or deposited for him in the Hereafter as long as he does not get frustrated.”
Allah’s anger at those who don’t make dua
In fact, it is even wrong to never make Dua, “Whosoever does not supplicate to Allah, He will be angry with Him.” [Saheeh Jaami`as-Sagheer #2414]
Dua is a weapon for the believers.
Rasullullah (saw) is reported to have said, “Dua is the weapon of a Muslim”.
Dua for one’s brother in his absence.
“The supplication that gets the quickest answer is the one made by one Muslim for another in his absence.” [Abu Daw’ud and Tirmidhi]
So let us build a close relationship with Allah by making much dua to him. He loves it when his slave calls upon him and it angers him if his slave does not call upon him.
Let us have full hope that our duas will be accepted and if you think they won’t then know that Allah (SWT) is keeping the rewards for you in the hereafter and those rewards are so great that one would wish that none of his duas were accepted in this world so that one can gain all the rewards for his duas in the next world.
Ya Allah, we entreat You to:
Protect us from the deceptions of shaitan, the outcast. Inculcate on us only the purest of intentions for Your pleasure alone. Make us submissive to Your will alone and not to follow the whispers of Iblees. Surround us with people who will bring us closer to You and keep us away from the influence of the Kafir. Make us bring our brothers and sisters closer to you as well. Bless us with what is good in dunya and with what is best in akhira. Not let us die in the state of disobedience but in the state of righteousness alone.
Ameen Ya Rabb,
Rabbana taqab bal min-na innakaantas sami-ul aleem.
(Our lord, accept from us; surely You are the Hearing, the Knowing.) [Al-Quraan 2:127]
[Supplication made by the Prophets Ibrahim (as) and Ismael (as)]
Ameen.
Wow! If we don't make Dua, then Allah gets angry with us!
How many times do we see people leaving the Masjid immediately we say Salaam. Does it mean we already have enough or that we are saints and does not require more forgiveness from the Almighty? This is food for thought.
Further, I see many non-Muslims valuing Duaas more than us believers, Why? I think Muslims should have been at the forefront believing in prayer that the others.
