Daud who was speaking at the chief’s elevation ceremony in Balaka on Monday reminded the chiefs and the general public of the need to focus on the development of the country and not politics.

The deputy minister said the syndrome of prioritizing politics when it’s not political or campaign period has deprived of development of this country as people resort to being more political-minded than developing.

“We shall resume politics in 2025 currently we have to work together as Malawians and develop our beloved country, Malawi.

In your communities, you have all the types of people but make sure you are working towards developing this country and not politics.”

“The President of this country is always emphasizing the need to develop the country so let’s support that because that is our goal as a nation let’s remind each other here we have one Malawi and collectively we can make this country what we want, so change your mindset believe that you are responsible for the development of this nation,” she said
