Muhammad Sidik Mia reminded the Clerk to the Cabinet today to give him Holy Qur’an not Bible when he was sworn in as Minister of Transport today in Lilongwe.
The Clerk to the Cabinet mistakenly gave Mia Bible that prompted him to ask for the Holy Qur’an as he is a devouted Muslim.
In his speech, Malawi President Dr Lazarus Chakwera said all Cabinet Ministers he has appointed are eligible to serve in their positions and promised to fire any Minister who will not deliver according to his expectations.
Dr Chakwera has given the members of the cabinet to deliver outstandingly within the first five months and that they will supposed to provide a report to the general public on their performance.
31 Cabinet Members are taking Oath of Office including Attorney General, Chief Secretary to the Government and Deputy Chief Secretary to the Government.
