The Young Muslim Donors (YMD) from Zomba on 12 August, 2012 donated various assorted items to Zomba Maximum Prison for Muslims who were observing the month of Ramadhaan.
Speaking after receiving the items, the National Prisons Spiritual Coordinator Constable Kapala commended the Young Muslim Donors for the donation as it would alleviate the suffering encountered by Muslims prisoners during fasting period.
The donated items were 20 bags of maize, maize flour, rice, dates, sugar, blankets, secondhand clothes, Islamic literature, iftaar packs and washing soap.
Young Muslim Donors is a non-governmental charitable group of dedicated youngsters that runs various projects like Distribution Programs to the Poor and needy, Dawah programs, Distribution of toys and food items to orphans, clean up campaigns, support for the aged and Madressa Deen Ul Islam for both children and adults, Muslims and non-Muslims in prisons, orphanages and hospitals.
