Fire has gutted down Zaburi Beach Resort in Mangochi district leaving various items destroyed.
According to Mangochi police station public relations officer Rodrick Maida, at about 21: 30 hours on Monday, a certain driver while sleeping within the resort, heard villagers shouting.
“When he (driver) came out of his room he saw the restaurant, kitchen, warehouse and bar up in fire.
Meanwhile, items such as fridges, one Plasma TV screen, four water pumps and two big speakers among others have been damaged,” Maida said.
He added that the damaged property costs over K10 Million.
Investigations are underway to establish cause of the fire.
