An American cartoonist whose work inspired the outrageous page about Prophet Muhammad SAW on Facebook has condemned the effort and issued an apology to Muslims. Molly Norris of Seattle drew a cartoon in April to protest the decision by the US television channel to cancel an episode of the show “South Park”. The show was cancelled because of the its offensive depiction of our Prophet Mohammed SAW. In her cartoon, Norris proposed May 20 as day to draw profane cartoons about Mohameed SAW. The page quickly turned up on Facebook but Norris, writing on her website at mollynorris.com says she had nothing to do with it. She says her idea was hijacked and made viral and that she never set up any place for people to send drawings to and she never received any drawings. She goes on to apologize to people of Muslim faith and ask that this ‘day’ be called off.
