The workshop which was carried out under the theme ‘Women Leaders’ is one of the Islamic Bureau programs which aims at equipping Muslim women leaders with Islamic knowledge.

“We are really happy and thank Islamic Information Bureau for teaching us what we can do during fasting especially as the month of Ramadan approaches. There are alot of things that we didn’t know which we have learnt from this workshop,’’ sister Kulsum Hassan from Al-Mumin Sisters told Malawi Muslim Official Website on Saturday.

Sister Hassan who is also secretary of the al-mumin sisters said she will not take the lessons for granted but rather use it to share her friends and other family members.

“We have learnt a lot from this workshop. However, as a leader and a mother I will take this opportunity to disseminate this information to other members of my group and members of my family,” said Sister Hassan.

“We have learnt how to interpret Quraan, how many prayers we should add on regular ones- as a woman, what am I supposed to do during this month of Ramadan and many other things,” continued the secretary.

Sister Khadeeja Iman from Kanjedza sisters also did not hold her words but to thank the bureau for that important workshop.

“My words to Islamic Information Bureau are just to thank them for what they are doing especially in the development of Muslim women in Malawi. I have learnt a lot of things from this workshop and I look forward to teach my friends as well as my family,” said Kanjedza sisters’ secretary.

In his remarks Limbe Islamic Information Bureau coordinator, Sheikh Ahmed Chienda said the workshops are conducted thrice a year and different Muslim Women from different registered organizations are invited to attend.

“We conduct these workshops thrice a year in all places where we have our offices national wide. All organizations which are registered with IIB are invited to attend,” said Sheikh Chienda who is also administrator of the Bureau.

When asked what other groups should do if they want to register, Sheikh Chienda said:

“If they want to register they can come to our offices like here in Limbe and other areas-For that, we will be easy to identify the groups,” he said.

Sheikh Chienda also revealed some of their programs in the month of Ramadan saying the workshop was one of them.
