Leader of the Citizen for Transformation Movement (CFT), who is also the Minister of Civic Education and National Unity has urged members of the political movement to preach the message of tolerance and peace and among members of various political parties in the country.
Mtambo, politically known as the CFT Commander-in-Chief made the remarks on Sunday in Lilongwe when closing the two-day orientation workshop for newly appointed leaders of the CFT.
Among the participants who attended the orientation workshop include the regional commanders, security, gender affairs and resource mobilisation leaders.
“As CFT, we are a unique political movement which is supposed to work with all political parties in the country in order to improve the socio-economic lives of Malawians. If we see a member of a political party, whether in government or opposition, doing a commendable job, let’s support them,” said Mtambo.
Mtambo further assured participants at the meeting that CTF was not formed just to remove the DPP from government, but to create and leave a lasting legacy of conducting transformative politics in the country.
“Let’s work hard to make CFT great so that many years later, we should be to look back with pride at the growth of CFT. But that can only happen if we promote the spirit of volunteerism towards the movement.
“I should also advise you to appreciate that every member in the CFT is important, so make sure you are transparent and accountable to everyone in the movement. If there are any differences among you, be open enough to resolve them amicably.
Formed in May, 2020, CFT-People Power Movement is fast becoming a political household name, especially among the youth who have hailed the movement’s vison of a prosperous and united Malawi where everyone has a fair access to resources.
