The remains of newly appointed Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) whose rank was Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in the Malawi Police Service (MPS) Bob Mtekama has been laid to rest at his home village, Nkhono, Traditional Authority Malengachanzi in Nkhotakota district.
Mtekama who was known of his professionalism died yesterday at the Adventist Hospital in Blantyre.
According to his family, Mtekama succumbed to diabetes among other diseases.
Meanwhile,students from the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) have joined the entire nation in mourning the fallen hero.
“Students of the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) have condoled their fellow students , Hopesin and Jemiah Mtekama (Both pursuing Bachelor of Laws,Year 1) for the loss of father Mr Bob Mtakama at Adventist Hospital in Blantyre last night,”
“The students of Islamic University are with the Mtekama family during this time and they are asking God to forgive Mr Mtekama’s shortcomings and offer him paradise,” reads a statement issued by Islamic University Students Union (IUSU).
