In its relentless efforts, in doing commendable work, Muslim Association of Malawi (MAM) gets a record appreciation from one of its stakeholders, Bilal Trust, for what the trust call it a mile efforts in providing relief to hunger crisis in Malawi.
The appreciation was made during Bilal’s 4000 bags of maize flour, distribution exercise, to starving households in Chikwawa and Nsanje districts respectively. Maize flour is a native and staple food for Malawi.
“Bilal Trust is not the only Islamic organization which is distributing relief items in the country, Muslim Association of Malawi is also doing the same and this is what Islam teaches us,” said Ishmael Nathan
Nonetheless, the hunger crisis in Malawi, is a tale of the media, the current sitting of Malawi’s august house, worshipping houses just to mention three. Despite the wide coverage of its tale, the response it receives is minimal.
The looming hunger crisis, forced Bilal Trust, a nonprofit organization, based in Blantyre with a notable fraction of relief food items to adversely affected people of the lower shire.
The distribution of food, described as timely, was the only word of thanks made by a traditional chief Mada under the high traditional authority Lundu.
“There, could be no any other time, more suitable, for this food donation, than now to our area,” said traditional authority Mada.
The people of Chikwawa and Nsanje districts of the lower shire, are seeking quick government intervention, as the hunger crisis is becoming unbearable.
