On 8th April, 2023, a 53-year-old man, identified as Kaya Wadwala died after being attacked by a crocodile in Dzumbo river in Nkhotakota district.
According Nkhotakota Police Station Public Relations Officer Paul Malimwe, the late Wadwala met his fate when fishing together with his nephew in the river.
“Whilst there, as they were busy fishing, the crocodile attacked Wadwala and went away with him. On April 09, 2023, he was found dead on the shores of Chia lagoon with multiple wounds and without left leg and left arm,” Malimwe said.
Postmortem conducted at Malowa Health Centre established that the death was due to loss of blood secondary to crocodile attack.
The deceased hailed from Ngwata Village, Traditional Authority Mwadzama in Nkhotakota District.
