The state President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has described the late Tanzanian President John Magufuli as a strong leader “who has proved that with determination African countries can achieve a lot in a short period of time”.
Chakwera said this at Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe on his arrival from Tanzania, where he attended the funeral ceremony of the late Magufuli who died on March 17, 2021.
Chakwera joined other African Leaders who came to pay the last honour to the late President Magufuli at Jamhuri Stadium in the Capital Dodoma.
The body of the late president John Pombe Magufuli will be laid to rest on Friday 26 March 2021 in is home town Chato.
John Pombe Joseph Magufuli was a Tanzanian politician who served as the fifth president of Tanzania from 2015 until his death in 2021. He served as Minister of Works, Transport and Communications from 2000 to 2005 and 2010 to 2015 and was chairman of the Southern African Development Community from 2019 to 2020, according to Wikipedia.
