The Malawi Police Service ( MPS) advises the general public that there will be security operation on Monday, 3rd February, 2020, in and around the Lilongwe High Court in order to facilitate smooth passing of judgement by the Constitutional Court on the presidential elections case.
The police is advising motorists and all pedestrians to avoid the High court area and the following roads which will be closed from 06:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs.
The roads are : Likuni Rounder About to Lilongwe town hall Round-about, Lilongwe Hotel to Lilongwe Golf club, Mtunthama road, past High court through the Lilongwe Golf club.
This is contained in a statement by the police on the impending judgement issued by National Police Public Relations Officer ( PRO), James Kadadzera.
The MPS is further advising members of the public who have been allowed to attend the High court session and accredited by the Registrar of the High Court to access the High court through the Lilongwe District Commissioner’s office entrance.
A statement says access to court premises will only be on production of a valid identification document in combination with the gate pass issued by the High Court with all other members urged to follow the proceedings from their homes or offices through media.
