Muslims in Mangochi have asked police to provide adequate security in the area.
Vice Chairperson for Muslim Association of Malawi in Mangochi Sheikh Abdul Kaposa told Malawi Muslims website that the death of Lisa Kasanga 20 who was killed at Missikatema village in tradition authority Mponda by armed robbers on the 13th of October 2015 is an indication that there is no enough security in the district.
“Her death has reduced the number of hardworking Muslim young lady who was busy involved in Islamic activities. This is very sad and painful among Muslims and the nation at large. Women play a big role in helping some activities in our religion and even in development of the country.” bemoaned Kaposa.
Mangochi police public relation officer Rodrick Maida confirmed that Kasanga was indeed murdered when her parents went to sleep at the funeral.
“Her parents Mr and Mrs Kasanga asked their elder daughter Lise Kasanga to sleep in their house together with other four young children. When they were returning back from the funeral in the morning, they found their
daughter Lise lying dead in the pool of blood. She was stubbed on her right breast with a sharp object. Post mortem that was conducted at Mangochi district hospital said that the death was caused by excessive bleeding,” Said Maida.
At the moment the suspects are yet to be arrested.
