Minister of Information, Communications and Technology Gospel Kazako says the Malawi Broadcasting Corperation (MBC) will be an independent public broadcaster.
Kazako made the remarks today when he visited MBC in Blantyre.
He says the current government of Tonse Alliance will make sure that the institution is serving the general public not the ruling party.
Kazako says Tonse Alliance government has nothing to fear or hide for it will work hard to meet the needs of Malawians.
The Minister of Information also assured the country that Government will soon operationalize the Access to Information Bill (ATI) to ensure that Malawians know what is happeing in all sectors in the country.
Some quarters in the country were accusing the immediate past ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) of abusing MBC such as fueling hate speeches against the opposition political figures.
