He was born in the house of his uncle, Abu Talib, in the “quarter” of Banu Hashim in Makkah, on the 12th of Rabi al-Awal ( the Year of the Elephant) , a date which corresponded to June 8, 570 AD (Christian Calendar).

His midwife was the mother of Abdul-Rahman ibn Auf. His mother, Amina, sent the tidings of the auspicious birth to his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib, who came, took him in his arms, and gave him the name Muhammad.
Before the birth of Rasool Allah (SAW), that year Arab was under heavy crises of hunger and thirst because of no rain. But with the birth of Rasool Allah (SAW) everything changed. It rained heavily, land went green and crops were healthy.
Muslims across the globe are becoming partners in the annual Muslim celebration of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him).
The history of this celebration goes back to the early days of Islam when some of the Tabi`in (the successors of the Companions of the Prophet) began to hold sessions in which poetry and songs composed to honor the dignity and the righteous example of the Messenger of Allah were recited and sung to overflowing crowds in the major cities of Islamic Civilization.
Although this practice has been a bone of contention among Muslim jurists (fuqaha) and Muslim scholars and literati (mutakalimun) since its inception, Muslim rulers and intellectuals over time have come to accept it as part of the mental and emotional furniture of Muslim society.
In Malawi, it’s just few years ago which Muslim community started commemorating the birth of the great and magnificent of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be Upon Him). Since that time the parade is conducted annually to carry out the eminent responsibility of honoring Prophet Huhammad (Peace be Upon Him), the mercy to ALL mankind.
The organizers of Ziyara Parade ( in celebrating the birthday of Muhammad) in the city of Blantyre At-tariqatul Qadriya Sunni Association (AQSA) have also confirmed that the event this year will also take place and all the preparations are at the advanced stage.
“This year again the parade has been organized and it will take place on Thursday, 24 December 2015 being 12th of Rabiul Awwal 1437 AH, which will commence from Kanjedza Mosque through Limbe and ending at Mpingwe Sports Club where the gathering will meet. The parade will take place during the morning hours between 8:30 am and 11am,” that’s according to the Press Release from AQSA which Malawi Muslims official Website is in possession.
Jean Vanier said at the heart of the celebration, there are the poor. If [they] are excluded, it is no longer a celebration.”― this means that everyone is free to participate in this cerebration but the participants should not always expect to get gifts at the end of the celebration and AQSA through its press release has asked every Malawian to grace this important event.
“We extend a cordial invitation to all brothers and sisters to be part of this annual event and also apologize to the road users for inconvenience caused during this period,” concluded part of the press release.
This event will also take place in other cities such as Lilongwe, Zomba and Mzuzu on the same day.
