Speaking during the opening ceremony, WAFA chairperson Altaf Gani said his organization decided to open an early development Centre in T/A Kuntumanji after the villagers approached the organization and requested for construction of an early childhood centre in the area.

“In response to the call from the people from Kole village, we decided to construct two beautiful classroom blocks, one for madrassah and the other for early childhood secular education. We thought it vital to open this childhood development centre here because children before this centre had no access to early childhood education” said Gani.

“This centre will assist in promoting children’s physical, cognitive, linguistic and social-emotional development and provide proper early childhood education directly to children. Classes will be in 2-hour sessions of 33 learners each day from 8 am to 1:30 pm” he added.

Echoing Gani’s sentiment, group village headman Kole thanked WAFA for bringing such a development to his area. He said children’s participation in preschool education sets strong foundations for future learning and life chances for children, as it promotes cognitive and emotional development.

“We greatly appreciate WAFA for this incredible development in this area and we believe this early childhood development centre will bring real positive changes to the children, as parents, we will work hand in hand with WAFA to ensure children get excellent early childhood education,” said Kole.
The Centre which has two blocks will be providing early education, both Islamic and secular, adequate nutrition, and good health care for the children.
